Between Tyra doing a big reveal for a wig-free, weave-free hair do on her show and Chris Rock feeling up Oprah's scalp while promoting his new film "Good Hair", women of colour have been blogging and arguing online about the quiet age-old battle Black women have with each other about their hair.

But do you think it's fair for people to judge black women who have chemically treated hair or wear wigs & weaves and suggest they want to be white (or are not "in touch" with their heritage)? Or is this a dead horse we keep beating? Women of other races do all kinds of craziness to their hair that isn't "natural" and no one seems to berate them.

This is the 21st century. Isn't it time we moved on? Shouldn't it be okay to do what you want with your hair? Should a woman act guilty everytime she encounters someone with natural, virgin hair?

I think it's okay to do what you want with your hair as long as it makes you feel beautiful, it doesn't leave a huge hole in your pocket and you don't become a slave to your hair.

What do you guys think?

And check out this very interesting perspective on Chirs Rock's appearance on Oprah's show. (The blogger also compares it to Tyra's "unveiling" episode)
