Summer Make-Up - Staying Fabulous In The Heat
We’re in the middle of summer, and it’s hotter than ever. Sure, we have been blessed by the presence of rain after a lengthy absence due to the recent drought, but that doesn’t make the temperature any cooler. This makes wearing make-up on a daily basis a challenge for many women.

Summer heat can be tough on make-up
Melting powder, sliding eyeliner, super sticky lipstick and running mascara aren’t cute. Unless you are going to be in the luxury of air condition all day, heavy make-up should be avoided. Here are some tips to keep you looking fabulous, yet suitable for our tropical climate.
Cleanse face with a gentle, oil-free cleanser of your choice
If you have oily skin, moisturise under the eyes and skip the rest of the face. For dry skin, use a light oil-free moisturising lotion
Choose eye shadows that have a luminous quality. Vibrant colours such as pink, peach and taupe bring attention to the eyes
Eyeliner is a popular choice, but make sure it is waterproof
Heat or no heat, mascara tends to run because we often rub our eyes without even realizing it. If desired, apply a thin coat of waterproof mascara to the top lashes only
Always use powder in moderation. Use an oil-free translucent blotting powder, paying special attention to the T-zone (the tip of your nose and any other areas of high shine)
Leave out the thick lipsticks and let your lips breathe by using moisturizing lip balms or clear lip-gloss. For a bit of color, opt for tinted lip-gloss.
Always have tissues handy, and blot the face gently as needed throughout the day to maintain a fresh and youthful appearance
