How To Use Eye Shadow
When it comes to your face, all attention is on the eyes. Be sure that your eye make-up techniques and choice of colours are most flattering to your eye shape and colour Always keep in mind that light colours highlight your eyes and dark colours shrink or recede.
Powder eye shadows come in singles or colour coordinated duos, trios or quads. When applying eye shadow, sweep the lightest shade over the entire area from lash line to brow. This shade will be your base colour and is to your eye what your foundation is to your face. It will hold your colour and prevent the gathering of the eye shadow in the creases of the eyes.
After applying your base colour, apply a medium shade on the lower lid. Most women put eye shadow on this part of the eye. Blend it into your base shade.
A third colour can then be added. Use a deep, dark shade to create depth. Apply this shade along the lash line, and at the outer corner of the eye, emphasizing the crease of the eye and brow bone. Blend well. This is your accent shade and when used can create a more defined eye.
For extra glamour, use an iridescent powder to highlight your eyes. This makes it possible to transform your day make-up into a glamorous night look.
