How To Rock Denim On Denim
This fashion season seemed to have been paying homage to many 80s and 90s trends. Denim on denim is one of those fashion crazes that resurfaced onto the scene. Stars like Rihanna, Rita Ora and Nicole Richie have been seen rocking this retro inspired must-have.

There are quite a few ways to rock this trend. I, for example, like to keep it simple. A well snug denim jacket (tone/wash of your choice) with contrasting jeans (skinny or slim fit), worn with Converse sneakers and lots of hand jewellery such as statement rings, give the perfect casual look. You could even wear your denim jacket with a cute sun dress or maxi and flat sandals (don't forget your pedicure, ladies!).
Some women may prefer to step out in a denim jumpsuit, which is chic when paired with pointy toe stilettos, bangles and a cute hat like a fedora or bowler. Keep in mind that colours/metals of your choice MUST coordinate but not necessarily match.
Another way to go would be to pair a lighter denim with a darker denim. For example, a light denim cropped vest with a dark denim high-waisted shorts with a little fringe is a perfect look for any teen or young adult. Accessorise with navy and gold/earth tone arm cuffs or bangles, which give a subtlety to the already edgy ensemble. For a modernized hippie edge, wear it with a hippie headband.
If you want to be fun and funky, there are coloured/printed denims! Now, there are solids and patterns to choose from. You could go for a solid royal blue denim vest/shirt (sleeves rolled up) and pair it with solid pale yellow jeans OR even go for a light natural denim vest and pair it with coloured stripped skinny jeans. A powder blue chiffon vest-top with tribal/Aztec printed skinny jeans are also a great combo. These are just examples, as there are so many different choices when it comes to coloured denim!
The key is to keep it fresh by mix-matching different types of denim, taking into consideration one's skin tone, height, weight proportions and accessories. An outfit that could make a bold fashion statement could also so easily turn into a train wreck of a look.
