Rihanna Finally To Speak Out
Several months after that fateful incident with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna is finally speaking out with her side of the story in an exclusive interview with ABC.

Some people are saying it's too soon for someone who went through such a painful event to speak about it publicly but I disagree. Yes, it is a sensitive subject but she's a public figure and if she still wants a career, she has to say SOMETHING.
Hopefully, this was her decision as a sort of cathartic exercise but it can't be a coincedence that this is coming on the heels of the release of her latest single Russian Roulette and the same week as the debut of the single's music video on the SAME channel ABC. Plus, as we know, the album Rated R is coming out later this month.
I can't help but wonder if Rihanna's PR people knew the interview would probably push her buttons and lead to her getting emotional on TV; as cold as this sounds, that would be excellent PR for her in contrast to Chris Brown's pathetic interview with Larry King. (Notice I said her PR people probably thought of this; I'm not saying I think it's good for Rihanna the person though)
However, this interview would be a disaster if she does the same thing as Chris Brown and stonewalls, dodging the questions that everbody wants to ask.
In any case, I plan to wake up early to watch this interview. And I'm sure I'm not the only one!
And a Glamour interview
On top of this, Rihanna is on the cover of Glamour's Decemeber edition. They already leaked out some snippets:
On the photo of her being leaked.
On the chaos immediately afterwards:
On what she wants her message to other young women suffering from domestic violence to be:
This just gets more and more interesting....
But what doesn't make sense is how Glamour made Rihanna a Woman of The Year. Yes, it's great that she's moving on but I think this label is premature. Has she reached out to other battered women or join campaigns against violence against women? NO. Would she have left Chris Brown if there was no court order to keep them apart? We may never know.
I'm not saying she should have been expected to be the spokesperson of domestic violence so soon after the incident, after all battered woman syndrome is really hard to break out of. But I wouldn't reward her just yet.
