‘Live the Music! Breathe the Music!’ presents its inaugural Real Talk-From Artist to Artist – an opportunity for local artists to gain invaluable entertainment industry knowledge through candid discussions with established Barbadian artists who have made their mark internationally.

Real Talk-From Artist to Artist, Session One will feature:

• Miles Robertson (Keyboardist & Musical Director for Adele)

• Hal Linton (International Recording Artist, Songwriter, Producer)

• Jaicko (International Recording Artist, Songwriter, Producer)

Hailing from Barbados, Hal Linton had electrified the local music scene with a potent blend of great songs, exciting vocals and a dynamic stage presence. In 2007, he won four awards at the Barbados Music Awards,  including “Song of the Year” for his single “Cardiac Arrest”. Shortly after, he moved to New York with his manager Teneille Doyle to further develop his sound and in May 2008 he signed a production deal with Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken of Syndicated Rhythm Productions, the duo who discovered Rihanna. After a mere two months he had captured the attention of Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone, and was officially signed in October 2008.

Hal Linton

Miles Robertson was born into a family of musicians. His maternal grandparents as well as his mother, Janice Millington, were established Barbadian artists, and his father, Raf Robertson is a noted Caribbean jazz pianist. It wasn’t until Miles was 14 that he decided he wanted to pursue a career in music. His professional breakthrough came in 2005, when he toured as a backup musician for Atlantic recording Soca artiste Rupee. As either a keyboardist or musical director, Miles has worked with a diverse group of artists, including rocker Drew Seeley, the gospel group Take 6, rapper Fabolous, One Republic, Ashley Tisdale, Sean Kingston, jazz musician Najee and old school band Lisa Lisa & Cultjam. In 2008, Miles began touring with international music sensation Adele. As her keyboardist, he has appeared on numerous television shows including Saturday Night Live, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Miles is currently on tour with Irish singer Laura Izibor in the United Kingdom and will open with Izibor for John Legend this fall in the United States. He continues to play at clubs in New York City such as The Village Underground and Club Groove during the few breaks he gets from his hectic touring schedule.

Miles Robertson

Jaicko born and raised in Barbados, is an extremely talented artist whose music speaks for itself with its remarkable fusion of Caribbean, POP and R&B sounds. In 2009 Jaicko was signed to Capitol Records where he began to work on his album “Can I” and the release of his two singles “Oh Yeah” ft. Snoop Dogg and “Fast Forward”. Soon after Jaicko traveled the United States and Canada as he toured with Sean Kingston and graced the stages around the world including Japan and Trinidad with several other artists such as New Boys, B.O.B, Train, Iyaz, Kat Deluna, Neyo and Livvi Franc. 

Jaicko

Not only is Jaicko known for his vocal talent but he is also recognized for his producing and song-writing skills. Currently Jaicko is working on his mix-tape and his next album.
