Accepting Yourself For Who You Are
I am a strong advocate for self-improvement. In fact, I try to work on aspects of myself that may be holding back my progress in life. However, I am fully accepting of myself and I encourage you to accept yourself as well.
The first step to self improvement is accepting yourself for who you are. Therefore, don’t misunderstand any quest for self-improvement or personal development as a signal you are not good enough.
While you are not accepting yourself, you are wasting time and effort trying to be someone else.

Love yourself as you are
Following these steps will place you firmly on the road to self-acceptance:
-
Trust your loved ones' opinion – Some are not accepting of themselves to the confusion of their friends and family. If you would take time to listen to what they say, you would realise that all of those people love you the way you are.
-
Take time to list your good qualities and accomplishments – I believe that if we objectively reviewed ourselves we would realise that we are pretty successful and valuable. This would help our personal development and us to accept ourselves.
-
Don’t compare yourself to others – It is tempting to say I have not achieved what someone else has done. But look at it this way: they are not you and have not done what you have achieved. Therefore, don’t look at others' accomplishments or personalities to judge yourself. Being unique and individual is what makes you who you are.
-
Don’t beat yourself up over mistakes – Everyone makes mistakes. Don’t use yours as a way to convince yourself you are a lesser human being. Making mistakes does not make you a failure. You simply have to learn from the mistake and move on with your life.
-
Be comfortable with your looks – Societal pressures decide that we must all look a certain way to be beautiful or valuable, but if we hate our looks then we have a hard time accepting ourselves. Therefore, instead of looking at stars and models for your idea of beauty try to aim to be healthy. Having a balanced diet would lead to you having healthy skin, hair and nails. Staying active and fit will help you maintain a toned body.
Remember that everyone can add value to this world. What a boring world this would be if we were all perfect!
