Miss Jamaica Yendi comes 2nd in Miss Universe!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh…

That sound you hear is of the whole Caribbean diaspora, especially Jamaicans, sighing in agonised disappointment.

So close, but yet so far – Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillips came within inches of the Miss Universe crown two days ago but in the end she was first runner up to Miss Mexico.

Sigh. Honestly, we thought she had it. Her answer was spot on and brave. Miss Mexico answered a tough question well too, as did Miss Australia but we thought Yendi had that certain je ne sais quoi and once she was in the top 3, we were certain it was all over.

Congrats still Yendi! First runner up in Miss Universe is nothing to be sniffed at!
