Honey Jam A Big Hit!

The Honey Jam Canada showcase took place last Thursday, August 11 to rave reviews!!  The performances were awesome, attendance of fans, sponsors, and media and music industry reps was high - it was a great night!

Sarah Taylor returned to host the event and the Much Music crew was in the house to cover it and interview the artists for an upcoming feature.

Universal Music Canada sponsored the production of 500 CDs featuring 1 track from each of the performing artists to distribute at the showcase.

Prior to the showcase, each artist was given the opportunity to participate in a free artist workshop at Harris Institute and also received 1 hour of one-on-one vocal/performance coaching time with Elaine Overholt. Additionally, they will each receive 1 hour of consultation time with Universal A&R head Ivan Evidente.

Honey Jam Canada is not a competition, but there was a special prize called the HONEY JAM HOOKUP PRIZE PACK chosen by an audience member pulling one artist's name from a bag. The prize pack was won by Giselle Mapp from the Remix Project and included:

• sound equipment from Yamaha worth $3,000
• $1,000 cash from EMI Music Canada
• a photo shoot with Nathaniel Anderson,
• legal consultation with Taylor Mitsopolous Klein Oballa,
• fitness package from Think Fitness
• Benefit Cosmetics and Palmers products, and a MUCH hoodie!

Another successful Honey Jam season and they’ve already begun planning for 2012... stay tuned!
