Crop Over* has officially started in Barbados! And every week Kurama Magazine will celebrate with a Crop Over Throwback of the week.

Roll It Gal

For our second week, we are featuring Bajan Alison Hinds' 2005 international hit about female empowerment 'Roll It Gal'. Alison Hinds, dubbed the Queen of Soca by her fans, started her illustrious career with much-loved soca and reggae band Square One in the 1990s. Now a solo act, this living legend, with her powerful vocals, energetic performances and flexible derriere, has brought soca music to the world.
