The End

Tue, 11/03/2009 - 23:39 — Kamilah Cadogan

The End

She stood atop the lighthouse, wind wiping through her hair, the brutal rain soaking her and mixing with her tears. She looked and watched the waves crash against the jagged rocks below. Looking up at the sky, she screamed out.

"God! Why would you let this happen to me! I did nothing wrong?"

Saving Me

Tue, 05/11/2010 - 01:08 — Shari Inniss-Grant

One wrong move could shatter me
But God, I wish you would break me
I just want to live beyond myself
Beyond these limitations I've found, or founded
I wish you would take me in your arms
Or maybe I'm thinking of the prince of last night's romance novel
I wish you would ruin me, thoroughly
Because if you broke me God would have to remake me
And for a while I'd be free
I wish could escape you
And the air I breathe
And the body I wear
And the face I have

Ease Me Now

Fri, 05/14/2010 - 00:56 — Shari Inniss-Grant

The leaves drift and blow away

As the November wind moves and calms my soul

Wiping my tears from my face

Drying them, leaving only a very faint trace

My heart is broken in two

He's six feey under, but he was only five years young

And I stand here, delivering this poem to you

Love Killer

Mon, 08/16/2010 - 16:21 — Coretta Joe

Love Killer

You’re here with me but you should have stayed home

Because I still feel very much alone

Even though you’re holding my hands and professing your love,

I disappointed myself as well as my creator above
