Falling For My Ex's Best Friend

I like Jason a lot and he likes me too. We’re practically best friends, we care about each other. But there's one problem – he's my ex's best friend. I like him a lot and I always wonder what would happen if we hooked up. I broke up with my ex two months ago and he's on the verge of getting another girlfriend but I'm afraid I might hurt him if this thing works out; we were together for two years after all. I've already kissed Jason a couple of times (not an innocent peck) and we both feel guilty about it. So, should I go for it or forget about it?

Dear Michelle,

Your ex has moved on so why don't you? You don't have to be worried about pleasing him anymore so go for it. Be straight with your ex from the beginning so that you don't feel guilty about liking his friend and so that your ex isn't left in the dark or feels betrayed by Jason. Even though you're not together, he still has the right to know what's going on between the two of you.
