Talented Bajans To Sing. Dance. Act.
The intensive six-week artistic summer camp 'Operation Triple Threat: Sing. Dance. Act.’ comes to a fitting climax next Thursday, August 18, with an exciting musical showcase.
The young artists will display their talents and the skills they have been honing under the tutelage of esteemed tutors at the summer programme.

Janelle Headley, the brainchild of Operation Triple Threat
This highly anticipated showcase of musical theatre, while on for one night only, promises to thrill the audience with the versatility of the young performers. The audience will be treated to a production that is both entertaining and therapeutic. The potential of these entertainers to excel at the international level will be on show while giving them the chance to explore an art form that many may never have considered as a career option.
‘True Colours: An Exploration of Human Emotions through Musical Theatre’, to be held at the Frank Collymore Hall, is special for both students and staff of the camp as part of the fund goes to honouring a stalwart in the local industry while helping clear the way for future artists.
The Janice Millington Scholarship fund – which provides financial assistance for outstanding Barbados Community College Music graduates who wish to study abroad – will receive a welcome boost from the proceeds of this showing of talent.

Operation Triple Threat's students for 2011
Several of the tutors and counsellors graduated from the Barbados Community College’s department of Fine Arts and some students of the camp have indicated an interest in the Music & Theatre programmes. Dionne Timothy, a Director of ‘Operation Triple Threat” was the first recipient of the Janice Millington Scholarship. With this connection, the staff and students of the camp are looking forward to giving back to the scholarship that brings local talent closer to achieving lifelong dreams.
This show may also be the start of something beautiful for the general public of Barbados as one of the goals of Operation Triple Threat is to offer new entertainment, allowing Bajans the chance to experience Broadway and Musical Theatre productions on a regular basis.
