Carlie Pipe – A Bajan Running Champ
Kurama Magazine writer Carlie Pipe has once again proven how multi-talented and determined she is. Carlie recently participated in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Denmark last Saturday. She completed it at a new personal best – 1:32:58, about 5 minutes faster than her last half marathon in December. Carlie took a moment to talk about what it was like representing Barbados in such a global setting.

3 Valentine's Day Looks
Happy Valentine's Day! It's the most romantic weekend of the year and you may want to look your best. Whether you have a hot dinner date with your man or are club hopping with your single ladies, one of these make up options can work for you!
Mandy Cummins, my go-to Bajan make up artist, is at it again with not one but three Valentine's Day video tutorials.
First up is the Classic Valentine daytime look:
Sweet & Smooth Honey Jazz
Barbadian lovers of jazz were treated to the smooth, bluesy performances of Honey Jam alums at the Honey Jazz... Ladies Sing the Blues event last Sunday in the Frank Collymore Hall. Kellie Cadogan was the featured artiste and show-stopper of the night, blending subtle Caribbean influences with her original music that was peppered with scat. My personal favourite from Cadogan was a kaiso-jazz song, written by Roger Gittens.
Coolest Caribbean People Of 2013 - Pt 2
Previously, I started my list of the Coolest Caribbean People of last year with Rihanna, Kerry Washington, Tessanne Chin, Joan Smalls and Melodie Monrose. Now we see who else made the cut, in no particular order:
Coolest Caribbean People Of 2013 - Pt 1
2013 has been a pretty good year for a Caribbean presence in the pop culture scene. As I’ve done in the past, I thought it would be a great way to start the new year by recognizing the coolest Caribbean people of 2013. Whether they were raised in the Caribbean or are a part of the diaspora, these artistes, celebrities and sports stars have done their countries proud or have been truly intriguing on a global scale.
Here's the first half of the list in no particular order:

Interview With Designer Charu Lochan Dass
When I attended BB Fashion Week this year, one of the highlights of Caribbean Night was Charu Lochan Dass' début, self-titled collection, better known as CLD. I fell in love with her elegant, feminine silhouettes and dark floral prints. Charu herself is a warm, charming and sophisticated woman, who pretty much embodies what her line stands for. I had to learn more about this Indian-born, Trinidadian-raised designer.
